In a happy coincidence, at the same time that Francesca Marti’s Copper Venus was being produced in Madrid as one of her tallest ever sculptures, Khalid Khreis, director of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts in Amman, sent photographs to Marti’s studio showing what is actually her tallest ever statue. At 380 cm high and made from sandstone and glass, Dilemma was commissioned in 2010 by the Jordan National Gallery for its permanent collection. Today, Dilemma stands like a sentinel in a garden of trees, in the park next to the gallery in Amman.
