The broad narrative of the Resilience project and video installation by Francesca Marti with Rohan Marley, charts the affinity and empathy between two people from very different worlds, each of whom lost their beloved father when they were only 9 years of age. The friendship between the Spanish artist and the Jamaican-American entrepreneur and philanthropist grew from a chance encounter in New York in 2023. As their initial bond developed further, their subsequent discussions lead to the creation of the Resilience performance and video in Mallorca in Spain, based on the notions of transmission and legacy.
